It’s been a while the last event was held in Bangalore, The last Web Analytics Wednesday was a great event. With help of few folks Ravi, Naveen and Girish, we thought we’ll kick off this again and may be this time keep the momentum going.

Although this one is for Bangalore, If you do think that it should be held in your city, Here’s an oppurtunity to do so and WE will be glad to help.

I am sure, last event was great startup and place to network

Why should you attend Web Analytics Meet/WAW/Event ?

  • A great event to attend for people with any level of expertise, you will get some great tip whether you belong to IT ( technical) or Business side
  • A Good place to catch up with other practitioners
  • For Beginners it’s a place to meet experienced and not so experienced folks and talk how one can benefit/help each other
  • Meet people with different experience ideas and views
  • May be bump in to your next employer :-)
This event/meet up however is not yet sponsored but that does not stop this to happen! So here are the options.

If we get a sponsor! Hurray this will be even a great event! and some beer (err coffee whatever)
Or without sponsor, Interested folks can meet up at a coffee shop with their laptops (if needed) and your visiting cards of course! Sip some coffee and get started from there Or probably a pub/lounge in the city (we can vote for the place if we go without sponsor)

Tentative Event/Meet Up Date: July 2nd (Wednesday)

Agenda:

There’s no formal agenda!, it’s our firm belief that we want to stay away from presentations and rather have free speech on various aspect of Web Analytics in general and in respect to India. To Keep the momentum going we are trying to focus these foundation.

  • Web Analytics Knowledge Sharing

Marketing Trends in India Online Travel Industry

June 15, 2008 by Anil · 4 Comments

Okay! So continuing from where I left and keeping the series of internet and Web Analytics going.

Here are the two posts
Current Internet and web analytics status in India
Online Travel Industry and web analytics status in India

This post tries to cover

  • The latest marketing trends seen in India Online Travel Industry.

Internet Marketing Vehicles:

  • Search Engines (SEM):
  • Affiliates/Partner
  • Banners
  • Email
  • Offline Marketing: Print/Radio/TV

Search Engine Marketing.
SEM has been one of the most used marketing channels in Online Travel Agency in India.

Search Marketing India Overview:

Top Online Travel Industry using Search Engine Marketing and their annual spend in Rupees.

Keywords Portfolio: Online Travel India Firms

Source: IMNAI & Pinstrom

Note: This is not the latest report but gives a fair idea, the report was released in sep 2006 and may not include some leading travel firms

Affiliates/Partners:

Affiliate marketing is a web-based marketing practice in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought about by the affiliate’s marketing efforts. Affilates network help travel firms increase

  1. Brand Reach
  2. Drive Revenue
  3. Latest Marketing information reach
  4. Targeted Ad approach

With increasing affiliate networks in India (Examples: Rediff Product Search, CompareIndia, Singdeals,Bechna & Tolmol), Travel firms are increasingly investing huge sum in this marketing channel.

Email Marketing: If you are registered with any of the travel sites (or sometimes their affiliates), you sure do get latest offers and deals in your mailbox!, Email marketing has been picking up and probably the next most spent after SEM and affiliates.

Travel Industry do use the big list of registered users, but personalization and segmentation of prospects is something which is yet to be seen. Target E-mail Campaigns is something which is yet to start.

Relevant E-mail Marketing to drive purchase and booking is certainly the next big step.

Offline Marketing: Print/Radio/TV:

There’s been huge increase in offline marketing be it Television, Print or Radio ads, With lot of competition and so many players in the picture. TV ads undoubtedly is the number one platform where “maximum” marketing is done. Probably there’s not been a day when we dont see a ad on Print, TV which is related to Travel ( Flights, Train, Bus, hotels and holiday packages).

My next post will focus on how to measure and track the ROI of all these Travel marketing channels. Stay Tuned. Wish to Contribute? Reach out to here
