It was wonderful set up at Country Club Bangalore and a nice weather for Web Analytics Wednesday to kick start. It was great to see the turn up of folks.

Thanks again to Eric from WebAnalyticsDemystified, Dave from SiteSpect and folks at Coremetrics to make this wonderful event happen!

So how did the Event Unfold? So here its goes

An Introduction to begin with of all the folks who attended, Many Web Analytics Enthusiast, Internet enthusiast arrived including few experienced folks who were interested to start Web Consulting firms.

There were many for whom this was first event and who were eager to get into this ( in big demand) field. It was also great to meet few blogger (Web Analytics blogs) from india , Vijay Bathula who blogs on VijayWeb and Rohan Kapoor.

A Special Mention to Tahseen Khan who came all the way from Pune ( West India) to Bangalore to attend this session!. Thank you Tahseen !

It all started with a small presentation on:

Web Analytics in India

Web Analytics Vendors in India:

  • Web Trends ( Done through reseller)
  • Omniture
  • Unica

Web Analytics Industry is pretty small and finding qualified professionals is hard

Web Analytics Industry Focus in India is on

  • Exploring Options ( Free Tools why not?)
  • Educate Marketers and Business head ( Web Analytics Power Evangelizing)

So what was all the discussion topic about?

  • Web Analytics Tool Used (Popular Tools): As per the poll taken GA Topped followed by Omniture ( Mostly MNC’s), Web Trends and Clicktrack.
  • Is Log file based Analysis a Legacy now ?
  • Data Accuracy!, Which tool gives accurate data: You can probably imagine how does this discussion went :-) )
  • Web Analytics and Statistics: How statistical methods can be used in Web Data Analysis)
  • Behavioral Targeting: Different Tools and Methodologies used and Best Practices

Outcome of the WAW Meet

There was a clear need of a platform for web analysts, for all level of expertise ( Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced)

  • Web Analytics India Community: Under Construction
  • Web Analytics Events: Hold More Event ( once in Quarter) locally and across major cities

Finally thanks to the entire audience for active participation during the event and also for all your feedback to make Web Analytics India Site better.

Not to Forget thanks to Naveen for taking care of the logistics and also Ravi Pathak for making sure everything goes well! You guys rock!

I really enjoyed it and it was worth the effort. I learnt so many new things in the forum from all the discussion we had. This forum definitely showed the interest in WA, a very good future in India and talented people too. I am very excited to be in the field and looking forward to have/attend more of these forums.

  13. Hi Anil,

Checking out the Web analytics stuff in India and came across your blog. I was looking for a forum like WAW in Bangalore and found that there hasn’t been lot of activity on this front. (this post is the last I could find one).

What do you think of having a WAW meet with in next month.

Without being too ambitious, I am thinking of a meet which lasts about 2hrs (on the lines of MOMO bangalore).
